Bridging Field Realities with Institutional Strategy

Key Community Consulting was founded by Markel Méndez, an international social development specialist with an extensive trajectory across global humanitarian, public health, and civil society landscapes. His career began on the ground, facilitating grassroots community work and creative dialogue to ignite collective resilience. This foundational field experience naturally evolved into guiding complex organizational processes, strategic alignments, and systemic change interventions for major institutions.

Bringing a deeply unique, interdisciplinary academic foundation, holding Master’s degrees in Communication for Development (C4D), Social Innovation, and Analytical Art Therapy, alongside post-graduate credentials in Psychodrama and Action Methods, Markel focuses on leading high-level regional strategies and strategic partnerships within the United Nations ecosystem and international NGOs.

His institutional track record spans from managing cross-regional emergency communications for refugee populations across Latin America, to serving as an independent expert for UNHCR, and IOM. Most recently, he operated as an institutional Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) Specialist within UNICEF LACRO. Across all these diverse landscapes, his core focus remains entirely consistent: humanizing data, strengthening institutional systems, and building resilient social capital.
